Sharrock - Niblo Cabin
The Sharrock Cabin was built around 1846-1847 in what is now southwest Dallas. The site was designated a Dallas Landmark in 2013. In 2015, the cabin was disassembled and taken to a warehouse in Farmers Branch were it was reassembled and repaired. Pieces that were no longer usable were reconstructed using the same type of wood with time period appropriate tools. The cabin was then taken apart again and rebuilt on its original location.
Currently, the cabin and the remaining structures of the Sharrock - Niblo Farm are not open for public viewing. The City of Dallas hopes to make the area a park after all the structures are refurbished.
